All referees are expected to attend one of the clinics before the season begins.

If you are unable to attend the clinics offered by Region 109, you are welcome to attend a clinic in a neighboring region such as Palo Alto Region 26. Here is a link to the schedule of clinics in Palo Alto. As of today (July 24) it's the 2007 schedule, so check back later for updates.

NOTE: If you attend a clinic outside our region please inform the Referee Administrator which clinic you attended and whether you passed the test following the clinic (not applicable for refresher Clinics). We need this information to assure our training database is up-to-date.

Uniforms and equipment will be available at the Region 109 clinics. Please let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks very much again for volunteering to referee!

U7 and U8 Basic Clinic

If you are a new referee for U7 or U8, you must attend the Basic Clinic. This clinic introduces potential new referees to AYSO soccer as it is played by 6 and 7 year olds in Menlo Park. It assumes no prior knowledge of soccer. This clinic is a single, 3 hour class session.

Refresher Basic Clinic

If you are returning to referee for a U7 or U8 team, you can either attend the basic clinic or the regional refresher course.

Regional Referee Course

If you are a new referee for U9 or above, plan to attend all three nights of the Regional Referee courses. The regional clinic covers the Laws of the Game aws and prepares both experienced Under 8 referees and new referees to officiate at games. You must attend all three sessions plus sit for the regional exam to referee U9, U10s, and U12s, and must pass the exam by a score of 75% or better (C+!) to earn your badge.
