(updated 4/30/2018)
2018 Fall Coach Classes offered by Region 109: dates tbd.

Advanced and Intermediate Coach candidates, please check out the information about Golden Gate Camp below.

Coaches from other regions are welcome to attend Region 109 training courses and likewise Region 109 Coaches are welcome to attend courses offered by other regions.

Note: AYSO is now using a new system called AYSO U to manage courses and class registration. It is very new and the kinks are still being worked out.

Coaches should check aysou.org for
a complete and up to date list of all available classes. For your convenience, we have listed a selection of classes being offered by regions, however, this listing may be frequently out of date.

Finding and Registering for Instructor-led classes

To search for courses or register for the coaching courses shown below:
  • Login to http://aysou.org
  • Select the "My Courses" tab
  • Find the "Instructor Led Courses" and click the "Open" button
  • Find the "Coach Instructor Led Courses" and click the "Open" button
  • Find the appropriate class type and click the "Sessions" button
  • Find the class you want and click the "Register" button.  As of today they have not implemented the basic filtering options one expects to be able to narrow the choices by date range, or state or area, but they assure me that is coming soon. So for now just scroll and scroll and scroll.
  • Questions? Please contact Patrick Amor (trainer@mpsoccer.org)
Clicking on the name of the class session will reveal further details like the start and end time, instructor name and any notes or instructions pertaining to the class session. Classes also used to have a unique class id number called Roster number. The new system in aysou does not use Roster numbers but any class that was transferred from the old system has the roster number in the description so it can still be used to search for. To find classes in Menlo Park, search for "Menlo Park". To search for classes in NorCal, search for "2/". Please do register for the classes so the instructor knows you are coming. If you have trouble registering, please contact the Region 109 coach trainer or your division commissioner.

Finding and completing U6/U8/U10 online classes

There are online classes available for U6/U8/U10 Coach training. The difference between the online and instructor-led courses is that the instructor-led courses also provide a field training session where the instructor goes through a sample field training session and explains drills and how to demonstrate skills to the players. Most regions offer instructor-led courses for U8 and U10. There are no online courses for U12 and higher.
  • Log in to aysou.org using your Blue Sombrero coach volunteer credentials
  • Click on Products under the eCommerce tab and find the desired course
  • Click on the My Courses tab after you have purchased the course
  • Click Start on the desired class.
